Popular Interrail Tickets

Would you like to experience Europe by rail? An Interrail ticket is a smart choice for that. However, before purchasing your ticket, here are a few points you should consider.

Before Purchasing:

  • Where to buy: Although you cannot buy an Interrail ticket directly from vr.fi, it is available in a separate online store. Remember to create a user account on Eurail’s service before purchasing.
  • Required documents: Make sure you have either a valid passport or ID card when purchasing a ticket. Keep in mind that your driver’s license is not accepted for this purpose. And also remember to check whether your ID card is valid in all the countries you plan to travel to. Also make sure to carry the same travel document you used to purchase the ticket.
  • Purchase locations and times: You can purchase an Interrail ticket from VR offices up to 11 months before your planned trip. However, be aware that ticket sales at these offices will end on May 31, 2024, after which tickets will only be available in the mentioned online store.
  • Useful links: It is worth downloading the Interrail guide and Interrail map so you know more precisely where you can travel.

After Purchase:

  • Cancellation terms: If your plans change and you can’t travel, you can get a refund minus shipping costs if you cancel before the first validity day of your ticket.
  • Changes to ticket: You can change the start date of your ticket up to 11 months after the original purchase moment, as long as you haven’t started your trip yet.
  • Train reservations: Although many trains do not require seat reservations with an Interrail ticket, there are exceptions. Check reservation requirements and train information on the interrail.eu website.
  • Customer support: If you have questions related to the ticket before or after purchase, Eurail’s customer service is ready to help.
