Lapua Railway Station
It is known in Swedish as Lappo or simply Lpa. It is a railway station in Finland on the rail section between Seinäjoki and Kokkola. The former is 25 kilometers long and the latter about 110 kilometers long.

Routes / Trains
The railway system currently consists of one platform track that is used as the main track for trains. In addition to this, there are 2 side tracks and 1 spur track.
Lapua station stops Monday to Friday five-day trains to Seinäjoki and four-day trains to Oulu. Night trains from Helsinki to Rovaniemi also stop here.
Lapua station previously had freight traffic. Nowadays it is rare but not impossible to see the loading of crown trains. From this station you can of course explore many parts of the country, such as:

Train Tickets
Previously VR had ticket sales points, which are no longer in operation today. However, you can use the ticket machine located inside the station, right inside the Matkahuolto building.
VR still has different ticket options depending on what kind of service you want or how often you use this means of transport. If you are not familiar with the different ticket types, here are some of them:

- Temporary tickets
- Series tickets
- Night train ticket and bus ticket
- Interrail tickets
- Escort ticket (free under certain conditions)
- Meeting and group travel tickets

Parking

Parking spaces on the train and luggage parking at the station
Throughout Finland’s larger stations, such as Helsinki station, have parking spaces on the train. You can save money by renting a car and taking your own car with you. The station also has luggage parking, which is safe and convenient if you plan to explore the sights.
Unfortunately, Lapua station does not have these two services. If you want to travel by car, you will need to go to a larger and busier station, such as the capital’s station.
No Luggage Lockers
If you want to go to restaurants, bars, museums, parks or anywhere else, you will have to take your belongings with you, as there is no safe place like luggage lockers to store your luggage. Keep this as an advantage! When the train arrives, you can get on quickly.
Assistance Service at the Station
In addition to basic services, such as a toilet for visitors, the station aims to take everyone’s needs into account. Therefore, Lapua station has high platforms and barrier-free access to low-floor trains. Unfortunately, escort service is not yet available.
