As you can see from the map, the illuminated lines are the routes operated by night trains. Although you can also travel from Turku to Tampere with this type of train, it is not designed for this purpose, as the journey is very short. And usually it is designed for trips over 6-8 hours. They offer different cabins for different needs and situations. Whether it’s for one person or a whole group, the cabin is always reserved for private use; they do not sell separate bed places in cabins.
🛏️ All cabins are reserved for private use – no shared sleeping spaces!

💺 Seat Option
If a cabin is not necessary, you can choose a train seat, often cheaper than a sleeping cabin.
Cabin Options:
- 1-2 persons: Standard cabin size
- 1-3 persons: Larger cabin option
- Combinable cabins (2 + 2 persons): Available on lower floor with removable partition wall (book through customer service)
- Accessible cabins: Available for passengers with special needs

👶 Children
A child aged 0-10 travels FREE on their night train with another passenger in the same bed. However, it should be noted that the bed width is 0.75 meters and the length is 2.00 meters, so for a larger child the trip is more comfortable when they have their own bed. An adult must always travel in a sleeping cabin with small children.
📱 Currently, you can only buy seats for their night train through the VR Matkalla app. They are working hard to get sleeping cabins available in the app as soon as possible!
