Riihimäki station is one of the originally planned stations on the Helsinki-Hämeenlinna railway opened in 1862. It is one of the traffic hubs of Finland’s railway network, located specifically in the city of Riihimäki.

It is currently located along the Helsinki – Riihimäki, Riihimäki – Tampere and Riihimäki – Lahti railways. The operators are the VR Group. In 2018, a renovation process for the passenger yard was carried out. Part of the renovation continued in the following years.

Some larger stations have a car transport service inside the station. Unfortunately, this service is not available at Riihimäki Railway Station. You can use it, for example, at Helsinki Central Railway Station.
