Salo Railway Station
This is one of Finland’s railway stations located along the direct coastal railway line (rantarata), right in the center of Salo city. In fact, ALL passenger trains operating between Helsinki and Turku pass through Salo railway station.

Salo railway station is located at Asema-aukio 1, 24100 Salo. If you want to use the train service and don’t know how to get there, don’t worry. Here is the location map.
The station currently has two elevated platforms used for passenger traffic. Additionally, there is a tunnel under the tracks with both stairs and an elevator.
Generally, trains from Helsinki run on track 1 and trains to Turku on track 2. However, there are two trains from Turku that use track 1.
All passenger trains operating between Helsinki and Turku pass through Salo railway station. However, there are exceptions: train S 975 at 16:10 Helsinki-Turku and train S 976 at 7:08 Turku-Helsinki. Additionally, there is also freight traffic.

To buy tickets, you need to use ticket machines. One is inside Salo station and one outside. Previously there were camper van service points that no longer sell train tickets. See our detailed guide on Finnish trains here.
Another option for buying train tickets is the VR Matkalla app. Available on App Store for iPhone and Google Play for Android.
Service Not Available
Some Finnish train stations have a car loading service on the train, so you can take your car with you on your trip. However, this service is not available at Salo railway station. At larger stations, such as Helsinki, this service is available. You can also check online which train stations you can use this service at.
If you want to arrive at the railway station by car and store it in a safe place, you can do so. Here are some nearby parking areas where you can park your car.

No Luggage Storage Available
Unfortunately, the station does not have luggage storage lockers where you can store your luggage during activities or restaurant visits. Therefore, we recommend that you keep an eye on your belongings and keep them close to you when your train arrives.
If you need assistance, you can request it at the station. The help desk is located next to track 1, right at the Turku end of the station building. In fact, the point has a roof, and escort traffic can access the vicinity of the point.
